Q: Can I register for an online class and start it today?
A: Yes! You may enroll for a class at any time. You do not have to complete a class all in one day; you have between 30 and 60 days depending on the class to complete the materials.
Q: Do I need to complete the online program in one day?
A: No, the online seminars are self-paced. You can move as rapidly or as slowly as you want within a 30-day window. You can work for one hour and then log off and come back three days later and work for another hour or two. You determine the speed.
Q: What online courses are offered?
A: We have several online courses available now. View all class offerings New classes are being offered all the time, so be sure to come back and check the website often.
Q: Do I need to purchase a text or additional materials to successfully complete the online class?
A: In general, all of the class content is contained online. However, some classes offer supplementary materials that will enhance the learning process. Courses may have required or optional textbooks. Check the class description for specific information.
Q: Can I receive continuing education credit for online classes?
A: Some classes are approved for LEED Creditial Maintenance Program (CMP). Look for the GBCI CMP logo for approved courses. Other courses may count towards programs that allow self-reporting. You will recieve a certificate of completion at the end of each course for your records.
Q: How long do I have to complete the class?
A: You have between 30 and 60 days from the start date to complete your class.
Q: Is it possible to access the classes after the 30-day period?
A: No. You will not be allowed to access the class once your thirty-day registration period has expired unless you request an extension. When you are in the class, if you want to save locations of interesting linked sites, go to these sites and use your browser functions to add the sites to your bookmarks or favorites.
Q: Do the classes have instructors?
A: Yes, but the role of the faculty is different from the traditional classroom. Rather than deliver lectures, instructors serve as facilitators. They are available to answer questions and guide discussions via e-mail and online discussion groups during the entire length of the class.
Q: Will I receive proof of completion?
A: Yes. A certificate of completion in Portable Document Format (PDF) will be emailed immediately after you successfully complete the class, with the date of completion.
